Initial Set Up

Following the purchase of Scottsdale light gauge steel frame and truss technology the steel frame machines were exported from Scottsdale’s manufacturing facility in Napier New Zealand.

Hazy Crest’s design team were then taken through our ScotSteel design training that utilised design’s Hazy Crest wished to build as the basis of the training.

On Going Training

Hazy Crest has sent its detailing staff to attend group based classroom training held in Johannesburg by Scottsdale.

While the training was held Scottsdale sent technician’s to Hazy Crest’s factory in Durban to service its steel frame machines and assist with software upgrades.

The Complete Package

The Scottsdale team provided a total solution package for Hazy Crest Steel Structures to enable them to quickly manufacture and erect steel frame houses.

Hazy Crest Steel Structures Purchased:

Series 700 90mm Panelised  Fabrication Systems x3,

Series 600 Truss x1,

Series 500 140mm Panelised Fabrication System x1.

Hazy Crest’s team were proficient in design and manufacturing after undertaking Scottsdale’s ScotSteel design software training program.

The Result

Hazy Crest Steel Structures have the means to produce residential steel houses rapidly as evidenced by the photos in this case.  The steel frames and trusses for this house were erected in three days and the entire house completed in 4 weeks.  Compared to traditional construction methods in South Africa this is a significant reduction in build time.

Patrick Swanepoel commented, “we have a strong relationship with Scottsdale and will be expanding with more machines in the near future to meet demand”.
