Background
Mr. Rodrigo Pinto, General Manager of Tecno Truss, was introduced to the Scottsdale steel frame and truss manufacturing technology by Diego Rivera of Scottsdale Construction Systems at the IBS Builders Show in Florida. Mr. Pinto saw the Scottsdale steel rollforming machines manufacturing steel frames at the show as well as live software demonstrations.
Mr. Pinto and Tecno Truss had been looking for an alternative to building with traditional wood frames and trusses in Chile.
Following the show Mr. Pinto and other Tecno Truss executives visited a production plant in Denton Texas employing the Scottsdale Steel Frame and Truss Technology with Diego Rivera and viewed live design, live manufacturing and construction sistes.
After a meticulous process of analysing, evaluating Scottsdale’s technology, Tecno Truss purchased the Series 700 90mm Panelised Fabrication System, and a Series 600 Truss Fabrication System.

RIGID Steel Framing is a family owned and operated business in the Queensland Australia.
Rigid Steel Framing has been a customer of Scottsdale Construction Systems since 1999.
Originally started by Len and Paul Rixon the business is now owned and operated by Paul and wife Jodie since Lens’ retirement in 2008.
Rigid Steel Framing was the first customer using Scottsdale Construction Systems technology in Queensland and one of the early pioneers using the system in Australia..
Background
Rigid had been investigating options to produce light gauge steel framing for housing in white ant (termite) ridden Queensland. Rigid Steel Framing first became a customer of Scottsdale Construction Systems in 1999 and purchased a 400 Series Panel Fabrication System.
Starting out with Scottsdale’s original 400 Series panelised fabrication system Rigid became a successful producer of steel framing in Queensland.
Continued Growth
After buying two 400 Series panelised fabrication systems Rigid continued to expand in both the residential and commercial construction sectors.
Over time with its business growing Rigid purchased newer generation Scottsdale 700 Series Fabrication Systems and later added the Scottsdale 600 Series Truss Fabrication System in 2010.

TAHZADE DISASTER MANAGEMENT (TDM) was first introduced to Scottsdale Technology through Steve Cullender, Scottsdale Construction Systems’ local South African agent, back in 2006.
Background
Rajan Harinarian, a South African entrepreneur, came up with the idea of a foldaway home following a fire disaster in KwaZulu Natal when 200 people were left homeless.
The house is a reusable emergency housing unit which could be used as an alternative to housing disaster victims who find themselves living in inhuman conditions
The Complete Package
The Scottsdale system allows TDM to produce all the frames in an environment unaffected by the elements and delivered to the required disaster areas.
The 24 square metre houses takes three minutes to erect. The house can accommodate six people and supplies all with adequate cover during times of disaster.
Utilising the speed of the Scottsdale system and the unique patent of Rajan Harinarain, TDM are able to produce 24 homes in a 24 hour time period.
Innovative Interiors is an established interior design business specifically in sound studio manufacture around Africa.
Innovative Interiors were introduced to Scottsdale Construction System’s light gauge steel technology at the Interbuild Africa tradeshow in Johannesburg, South Africa by Scott Kimble and Steve Cullender of Scottsdale Construction Systems in 2009.

Background
In January 2009, NEDSteel Construction and Development Corporation was formed by a group of five young and dynamic individuals coming from different discipline whose aim was to introduce to the Philippines construction industry a new technology that is efficient and cost effective. Once the truss layout is completed in Scotsteel design software the trusses are exported to the Truss Engineering Software. The Truss Engineering Software performs 146 stress tests on each truss.
The truss engineering software has optimising functionality that ensures you achieve your local engineering requirements but produce a steel truss that is economical in steel usage and competitive in the market place.
The truss engineering software can engineer steel trusses for non-cyclonic through to extreme cyclonic conditions in excess of 180 mph.

There are many cladding options when building with light gauge steel including:
- brick veneer,
- light weight concrete,
- hebel (aerated concrete),
- linear board,

Essentially any cladding used with traditional wood frame construction can be used with steel. Also most traditional methods of cladding can be adapted to work with light gauge steel framing.

As part of our Automated Framing Systems “Total Solution” we provide one-on-one Software and factory commission training free at our facility in Napier New Zealand.
We can also provide training in most countries globally subject to agreement.
The duration of our training program is five working days of ScottsSteel software training for the panelised system and two working days for factory machine training.
If both panelised and truss fabrication systems are acquired software training takes 10 days.
The technology comprises comprehensive virtual building 3D design software and machine control software and CNC rollforming machines.

The Panelised Fabrication System can build complete Steel Houses Including Walls, Ceiling, Roof Frames & Floor Joists for the residential market. The Truss Fabrication Systems produces fully engineered bolted steel trusses and floor joists.
These technologies have been developed for the residential & light commercial markets taking account of operational & economic realities, such as the impracticality of transporting wall frames & roof trusses any distance from the point of manufacture. This means low cost rollformers and production rates suitable for 2 to 4 man teams manufacturing & fabricating light gauge steel panels and/or trusses.
Both technologies are software & rollformer based using cold rolled steel from 0.55mm to 1.20mm thickness.
The Company was founded in Napier New Zealand in 1995 as Scottsdale Building Systems Ltd (since changed to Scottsdale Construction Systems Ltd) to develop & market light gauge steel wall & roof panel technology primarily for residential construction.
Scottsdale launched its products in earnest in 1997 comprising roll forming machines plus design & manufacturing software.

The RF700 series is an intelligent CNC rollforming machine that automatically produces all the framing components of a structure. The computer controlled, servo driven rollforming machine precisely rolls out the steel profile through seven progressive stations.
Incorporating the latest state-of-the-art technology the accuracy of the extruded steel construction components is achievable down to .5mm, which allows all components to be easily assembled, by simple insertion of one element into or over another.

Our Automated Roll Forming Equipment can roll steel from 0.55mm to 1.0mm in high tensile material and 1.2mm in medium tensile.
To establish a factory facility requires very little in the way of infrastructure, namely there is no major capital plant as our roll formers manufacture 100% of the profile components, with assembly the only other key element.

Once frames are designed in the ScotSteel 3D design software they are exported to the production software packages:

Once exported, frames are checked once again then the CNC-controlled rollformer automatically produces all the elements cut-to-length, punched, notched and swaged.
The ScotRF rollformer software is easy-to-use with many powerful tools to improve productivity and bottom line profit.
Constant visual representation of the extrusion process keeps the operator fully informed at all times.
ScotRF Truss is the software bridge between the Design/Engineering software and the Series 600 rollformer. Completely intuitive, ScotRF Truss software will have you producing light gauge steel trusses in minutes. This software directly interprets the geometry data produced by Design & Engineering software and converts it into machine commands for the rollformer.
Houses have been built with wood for hundreds of years. Old growth trees make a good building material. However, a dwindling supply of old growth trees and environmental concerns have caused the quality to diminish.
Today, it is clear that there is a need for a new building material. Despite the myths that still surround the use of light gauge steel framing, it has come to the forefront as the best and most feasible alternative building material for residential and light commercial construction.
Termite Damage
Termites are known to destroy the wall and roofing timbers of a home within 3 months of construction.
As an example, termites cause more damage to homes in Australia than fire, floods and storms, combined.
Severe termite damage to a building is not uncommon. To compound the problem, your Home or Building Insurance Policy may NOT cover the repair costs of any timber damage caused by termites.
Toxic Mould
Moulds in Your Home can cause health problems and structural damage. The most common toxic mould is Stachybotrys chartarum, a slimy greenish-black mould that grows on moisture-laden materials. It does not grow on steel, nor does steel promote the growth of mould.
Mould can cause severe lung problems in infants and the elderly.
Steel does not contain moisture like wood. Even kiln dried wood still has a residual water content.
Fire Resistance
Steel framing is non-combustible and will not fuel a fire.
Steel will not ignite and withstands higher temperatures.

For the commercial steel construction sector it can be used to build Completed Steel Buildings Including Roofing Panels, Infill Panelling, External Rain Shield & Internal Partitioning.
The Truss Fabrication System produces fully engineered bolted steel trusses and floor joists. These steel construction technologies have been developed for the residential & light commercial markets taking account of operational & economic realities, such as the impracticality of transporting wall frames & roof trusses any distance from the point of manufacture. This means low cost steel rollformers and production rates suitable for 2 to 4 man teams manufacturing & fabricating light gauge steel construction panels and/or trusses. Both technologies are software & rollformer based using cold rolled steel from 0.55mm to 1.20mm thickness.

Scottsdale can supply a fully fitted out containerised factory with arm to lift coils or assist you with building one from a standard 20 ft shipping container. The panelised system is well suited to containerised factories using single phase power while the truss uses three phase power.
