Light-Gauge Steel Framed Apartment Complex

Lynnet Road, NS, Canada, is a recent example of a light-gauge steel residential building design completed in partnership between Scottsdale and Sysol Limited. It was produced, installed, and executed by our customer, HFX steel framing solutions, using Scottsdale roll forming machines.  This large, four-story light-gauge steel apartment building sits atop a concrete basement and includes 40 apartment units, making this project an impressive 45,000+ square feet light-gauge steel residential development. The steel framing was fabricated using Scotpanel 5140 and Scotpanel 7090 roll forming machines. Due to the scale and complexity of the project, the customer chose Sysol Limited to handle the light-gauge steel framing design and engineering, allowing them to focus on the production, fabrication, and installation of the steel framing system.

This project shows several key features that highlight the advantages of modern steel construction. Designed as a multistory development with wide spans and affordable residential units, the project is optimized for cold-formed steel construction. By utilizing advanced light-gauge steel design, the structure incorporates efficient steel framing systems, including light-gauge steel wall panels and light-gauge steel trusses, all manufactured with precision using roll forming machines. The integration of roll forming steel framing not only enhances structural performance but also ensures faster, more cost-effective construction while maintaining long-term durability and design flexibility.
