This video, filmed live at the International Builders’ Show 2026 exhibit, features a Scottsdale Construction Systems team member, Mateo Camara, demonstrating the power and speed of the ScotSteel software environment within Scottsdale’s end-to-end cold-formed steel framing ecosystem.
The demonstration begins by importing a floor plan directly into ScotSteel, where wall framing is automatically generated with a simple click of a button. The video also shows how easily users can modify wall perimeters, switch between metric and imperial design units, and adjust wall heights using streamlined commands.
The workflow continues with adding additional floors to the model in seconds, followed by generating floor trusses for virtually any building shape. ScotSteel automatically snaps floor trusses to perimeter walls, while allowing designers to quickly define walls as load-bearing or non-load-bearing with a single command. Once loads are assigned, the software can automatically align floor trusses to the load-bearing wall layout before running engineering analysis on the model.
The demonstration also highlights roof truss design capabilities, including the flexibility to individually modify truss shapes to suit project-specific architectural and structural requirements. This gives designers greater freedom while maintaining an efficient design-to-production workflow.
The video concludes with a discussion around the scale of projects regularly completed using Scottsdale’s roll forming technology, including 7- to 8-story buildings built by our customers worldwide. Scottsdale offers a wide range of roll forming machines, each engineered to serve different construction markets and applications.
