Perfect fit, every time
You may recall reading about our popular new invention Knudson by Scottsdale FrameExtend24 (FE24). Now, watch one of our Scotpanel 7090G1 operators from Argentina speak about the power of FrameExtend24 at a recent trade show.
SICLA Argentina, already an operator of FE24, brought an FE24-generated panelized telescoping wall assembly to a tradeshow held in Argentina to demonstrate the practical use of the device to the prospective framing customers. SICLA employs the FE24 in both load-bearing and non-load bearing contexts. While the advantages are clear for the use of FE24 in the non-loadbearing context, where this device offers the unique framing competitive advantage in its power to enable panelizing in curtainwall framing, void of the burden and risk of ascertaining the dimensional accuracy of an as-built deflected floor, SICLA found an innovative additional purpose in load-bearing framing applications. Specifically, FE24 can help create a temporary reduction in the size of the panelized wall assemblies, which in turn makes it possible to transport such assemblies through elevators and basement stairs of partially completed structures before placing them into their permanent position where they serve load-bearing purposes.
Envisioned to revolutionize and simplify the work of drywall and curtainwall contractors, this popular portable machine eliminates as-built height certainty as a consideration in drywall frame panelizing by enabling the production of telescoping wall panels. It can, obviously, also be deployed in a variety of load-bearing applications, which is ultimately the advantage SICLA capitalized on.
FE24 assemblies were thoroughly evaluated by the top industry experts which deployed the latest and the most sophisticated methods, including an extensive in-house research using advanced finite-element analysis (FEA) using ABAQUS and CUFSM resulting in the most optimized section achieving the best strength to weight ratio. This equates to more strength with less steel usage.
The users can also create, using FE24, powerful stud box-column assemblies which greatly extend the load carrying capacity of load-bearing walls by as many as two extra floors.

Additional benefits of the system include:
- ICC-ES approved shapes for code compliance.
- Engineering, design, and maintenance support from Scottsdale for greater piece of mind.
- Software for proportioning the required telescoping stud overlap and for determining the required fastening pattern for the appropriate resistance of the applied loads for both load-bearing and non-load bearing uses.
