We got together with the steel framing fabrication crew from Urban Steel Frames & Trusses to test out the Scottsdale GEN II rollforming machine. These guys are a highly experienced crew, which allowed us to really push the GEN II machine as hard as any steel framing fabrication team could.
Man versus Machine: the key takeaways
The guys from Urban Steel are fast and don’t make mistakes.
They fabricated an amazing 3,025 metres (9,925 feet) in a 7.5 hour shift. That’s over 400 metres per hour (over 1,300 feet/hour). Impressive stuff. Yet even this crack team couldn’t keep up with the GEN II machine from Scottsdale, which was cruising at about three quarters of the machine’s top speed.
